To kickstart Stage 3 of the local River Precinct project, which includes the Island and Boardwalk sections, the Australian Government will deliver a $494,000 funding boost.
Thanks to the funding, Blayney Shire Council will be able to begin the construction of a new footbridge, viewing platforms and a boardwalk at the site.
Federal Member for Calare and Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Defence Personnel, Andrew Gee, said that once complete, the Belubula River Precinct will be a massive boon for Blayney.
"While it may not be much to look at now, the Belubula River Precinct in Blayney is well on its way to becoming a top notch feature of the town," said Minister Gee.
"With the clean-up of the River in full swing, it's not hard to imagine spending the day fishing on the grassy banks of the Belubula - just a hop, skip and a jump from Blayney's town centre.
"That's why I'm thrilled to announce $494,000 in federal government support to help Council get cracking on Stage 3 of the Belubula River Heritage Walk.
"Stage 3 is when local residents will really start to see the Precinct take shape. A new footbridge will be constructed, connecting Henry Street to The Island - a little piece of paradise surrounded by the Belubula.

"The construction of a boardwalk will create a lap around the Island - the perfect place to get in some steps, with a few viewing platforms to get your breath back.
"This project will provide local residents in Blayney with an excellent recreational space which will complement the community for generations to come.
"With visitor numbers to Blayney taking a knock due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Precinct will encourage more people from neighbouring towns and centres to spend the day, and their dollars, in Blayney.
"This funding is a brilliant boon for Blayney," said Mr Gee.
Round 5 of the Building Better Regions Fund brings to $1.38 billion the Australian Government's financial commitment delivered under the BBRF grant program.
