With a new studio now opened in town, Braidwoodians are spoilt for choice when it comes to yoga classes. Braidwood Yoga Studio opened in February with an extensive timetable of classes complementing those that have been going at Braidwood Regional Arts Centre for the past couple of years. There are three instructors working in BYS, a beautiful space looking out to Braidwood Wilson’s Hill. Teachers Bishnu Potts, Pauline Webber and Meghan Stevens offer  different styles and practices, including Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar and Synergy yoga. All classes are suitable for everyone and can be structured to give a range of options for people who have very varied levels of experience. Christina Jagusiak and Sue Lyons both offer yoga classes with elements of Pilates and Qi Gong in the Arts Centre building at the southern end of Wallace St on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. They also offer regular retreats and workshops. For more information check out posters around town. Braidwood Yoga Studio, in the rammed-earth building opposite the Braidwood pub at the northern end of Wallace St, has an extensive timetable that works in with the classes already on offer, providing opportunities for folks who are at work weekdays. There are a number of early-morning, evening and weekend classes and the studio is open all year. Regular yoga practice really helps people to live better, eat better and even think better, with techniques that stimulate the mind and spirit as well as the body. It’s also very relaxing, a great way to get rid of the stress and anxiety of daily life. Yoga incorporates breathing, meditation and awareness in ways that can really benefit health and well-being. No surprise it’s such a growth industry. Classes Tuesdays 4:15pm; Wednesdays 6am & 6pm; Thursdays 6am & 5:15pm; Fridays 6am & 5:30pm; Saturday 7:30am & 9:30am; Sundays 4pm. Pick up a timetable at the studio and around town or check out their Facebook page for details. Classes Mondays 6.30am, 4pm & 6.30pm; Tuesdays 12pm; Fridays 10am & 2pm.
