With an organisational lead-up that stretches for months before the actual event, current COVID-19 restrictions mean that next year's Carcoar Village Fair won't be going ahead.

President of the Carcoar Village Association Tim Hansen said that as a small village community, they have a responsibility to both residents and visitors to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

"With domestic tourism rapidly increasing to the region and to our village over the past six months, we have not made this decision lightly," he said.
"But we all feel it is the right thing to do for our community - particularly in light of the median age of our local elderly residents and residents of the Uralba Retirement Village."
Although there is no official event, the committee is encouraging locals and tourists to visit the village.
"Bring a picnic basket and your family, sit down by the Belubula River and soak up the fresh country air," Mr Hansen said.
"Our shops will be open and we'll be welcoming all visitors."
