For months she'd been training for the Firies Climb for MND, albeit without the 20kg of kit that each participant has to strap on their backs, and it was that extra weight that Casey said nearly had her come undone.
"I knew it would be hard, but I think I took it a bit for granted and I would have done it differently if it hadn't been for the gear," she said.

That 20 kilograms of extra baggage hit Casey early on in her climb.
"It was at the tenth floor that I had that wow moment," she said. "That, in comparison to the entire climb, is not that far in at all."
"I took off really gung-ho and it was after the second flight that I realised that at that pace I wouldn't make it."
With 88 floors to go, Casey had begun to doubt herself, but with supporters donating money towards the cause, she knew she had to press on.
"My pride is what made me push on, along with the knowledge that all these people had donated money and also on the fact that I would do this, and that's what took me over the line."
From the tenth floor up Casey said that all that was getting her there was her attitude towards the climb.
'It was a real mental game and it wasn't until the seventieth floor that I thought I could make it to the top," she said.
Now with that experience burnt into her mind, Casey is adjusting her training regime for the next climb on November 9.
"I've really not taking my foot off the pedal with my training now," she said.
"Last year I thought I was alright, but this year I'm doing some strength training as well as some cardio to help get that gear up to the top."
Along with fellow RFF Adam Hamilton, 'The Little Station That Could,' have begun their fundraising with a trivia night on the July 27 at the golf club.
