In June of last year Bathurst MP and now deputy premier Paul Toole announced that the Blayney netball courts would receive new Laykold surfaces for the players to play and train on.

That came about thanks to $200,996 from round three of the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.

On Tuesday Mr Toole was back at the netball courts announcing that under round four of the same fund that lights at the netball courts and at King George Oval would undergo a significant upgrade.
Funded under Blayney Shire Council's Light Up Blayney Shire Sports program the funding will see 12 new LED lights built around the netball courts at a cost of $112,654.
The funding also includes the upgrade of lights at King George Oval costing $132,275 at a total of $244,929.
President of Blayney Netball Julie Prosper said that the club was growing in size and that the lights would make a huge difference.
"We'll be able to use the new courts more and now with CentrePoint going down from two indoor courts to one, it means when the older girls need to train late, they have somewhere to train," she said.
That flexibility in training schedules means that the club will also be able to offer longer and better competitions.
"With twilight it gives us the flexibility to schedule multiple rounds now rather than just having one now and needing to get it finished before the sun goes down," she said.
"We have a lot of representative sides now so and it has at times been hard to get access to CenterPoint for training. This will make life easy for us going forward."
