In the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday night, two new cases were detected in Orange, and Blayney has picked up its first case of community transmission too. Meanwhile, 33 new cases were detected at Dubbo, five at Bathurst and four at Bourke. There was also two each at Parkes and Forbes, while a single case was identified at Narromine.
The Dubbo LGA has suffered its first death of this outbreak, with a man in his 50s who, NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant confirmed, has "significant underlying health issues" has died.

It's the first COVID-19 related death in regional NSW in this outbreak.
After the initial wave in 2020, by July there was only 46 confirmed cases of the virus throughout the Western NSW LHD. In total, 13 of those were recorded in Orange.
We're 20 days into this Western outbreak and Sunday's single-day total of 51 eclipsed that mark, and passes the 49 recorded in 24 hours announced on August 25.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said there were 1290 cases in the community, with 80 per cent in south-western Sydney.
"There's stabilisaton across regional and rural NSW, but western NSW remains a concern," she said.
Western NSW was the exception, Ms Berejiklian said, with the outbreak in that area continuing to pose concerns.
There's now 15 active cases of COVID-19 in the Orange LGA - that total doesn't include the six tradies sent packing back to Sydney after being fined by NSW Police last week.
