Both the state and federal governments are splashing the cash far and wide and Blayney is benefitting from their largesse.
At a special council meeting on Monday night Blayney Shire Council endorsed a swag of projects that they will be submitting, pending final project scope and budget preparation, to the relevant fund.
NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 4; Resources for Regions Fund Round 8 and the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Phase 3 Program are the three programs that council will be submitting a whole swathe of projects to.
In the SCCF the projects are:
Sport and Recreation Masterplan/Village Plan Projects
- Belubula River Walk Stage 4 - New
- Millthorpe Cricket Nets - Upgrade
- Napier Oval Lights - Upgrade
- KGO Oval Lights - Upgrade
- Blayney Netball Court Lights - New
- Lyndhurst Tennis Court Lights - New
Community Events
- Music in the Park Events in Carcoar, Millthorpe and Blayney (2 each February 2021 and 2022

- Mt McDonald Road and Marsden Street - Capital Park to Public School
Newbridge
- Three Brothers Road - Gladstone Hotel to Showground
Millthorpe
- Boomerang Street - Public School to Skate Park

- Park Street and Glenorie Road - Blake Street to Cadia Street
Carcoar
- Coombing Street - Footbridge to Showground/Eulamore Street

The federal government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program will have the following project submitted to it.
Roads Construction/Sealing/Rehabilitation
- Millthorpe - Unwin Stabback Streets Road Safety, drainage construction and rehabilitation.
Blayney mayor Scott Ferguson said that the final funding total couldn't be determined but that it was important that the projects be endorsed to enable them to be submitted.

"We can't submit any programs unless they're endorsed by a resolution of council," he said.
"There are some serious projects being submitted and we're going to get a lot of stuff done over the next couple of years."
Cr Ferguson said that some projects have been pushed forward because their status didn't allow them to progress just yet.
"The projects that we're submitting are all shovel ready," he said, "They're ready to go and depending on each program we'll have an idea on what's been approved starting in late July."
