NSS is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association and each year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
IN OTHER NEWS:
St Joseph students were invited to the preschool to share the story as the older children have been practicing their reading for the younger children in recent weeks.
This year the book, Give Me Some Space by Philip Bunting, was read by NASA astronaut Shannon Walker from the International Space Station.
This year there were 1,980,280 readers at 33,418 locations.
