The radical plan to engage on an innovative payment model had introduced an incentive to get well and truly stuck in, and that buzz has only become even more electric following the reserve / first division side's recent wins in Cowra.
Coached by Lochie Hobby the Bears will be launching their 2021 campaign against Orange CYMS this Saturday at King George Oval, and Hobby is keen to get the home-grown side onto the ground.
"We really want to get the culture back at the club and winning is certainly the way to do that," he said.
"We've got a quality side with a lot of youth mixed with experience and because we're all locals, with no imported players, it's all about footy more than anything else. It's like it was back in the old days."
What all that youthful exuberance and experience are bringing the side is something that Hobby acknowledges has been missing from the side over the past five years.
"Speed is what we haven't had a lot of, so with the young blokes in the outside backs we're now an all round team," he said.
The footy kicks off at 11am at King George Oval with the Bear's league tag and the first division kicks off at 12.30.
