Joe, and Lesley have run workshops in Newbridge previously and were delighted to revisit and teach the group. On Saturday, Joe took the group through the methods of pen and wash sketching, including an outside plein air lesson where the group sketched a local building.
Thirteen artists took part in this class.
On the following day Lesley demonstrated and concentrated on portrait painting.
One of the enthusiastic participants in the weekend was Annie Joseph and her brother Paul, who travelled quite a distance to join us and stayed overnight in the Gladstone Hotel.
Annie is an accomplished watercolourist and will be the tutor for the next workshop in April.
It is sure to be a very enjoyable weekend. Anyone interested in attending, please contact Jan on 0459022078.
Space in the Newbridge Hall is adequate, but numbers are limited, and places will fill fast.
Last weekend, most of our members exhibited in the annual Art Show with great success.
Jo Fernandez of Millthorpe was awarded first prize for her beautiful cloudscape entry in the Isolation section (the theme for the show).
Almost everyone in the NAGS group sold at least one painting, with Marie Billington selling three, Yani Lenehan and Usha Bacchila two, as well as Jo, Jennie and Jan selling one each.
It seems the Newbridge Nags group is making a splash in the local art world.
Newbridge Camera Club Following a successful Club exhibition at the Olde Bridge Gallery the Club followed up with a very enjoyable and comprehensive workshop on lighting in photography presented by Glen Boatswain from Bathurst.
Members were able to investigate natural light and use speedlights to produce some interesting portraits.
The next workshop is planned for Easter Saturday and will include macro photography ranging from flower and water drop photography to abstract, found and old objects.
Members are looking forward to extending their new lighting skills to produce some unique images.
The camera Club meets regularly in the Newbridge Hall on the first Tuesday of each month.
