It's taken 52 days of their 90 day option to raise just over $350,000 of the required $450,000 needed to purchase their beloved church, and the St Paul's Carcoar Association are confident that once one small hurdle is overcome, the building will be saved.

That hurdle is gaining a tax deductible status for all large donations, and it's one that George King is confident will be achieved.
"We've been lobbying our local federal member Andrew Gee to have an exemption put in place for the association, and it's one that we're confident will be permitted," he said.
Aside from that small but important barrier, the committee has a healthy bank balance of $31,500 and have gathered pledges of $320,000 to help buy the building.
Not only is the money coming in, but support from all corners of the country are adding their weight behind the project.
"A Current Affair is due back in town at 2pm on Monday February 15 to help promote the fundraising," Mr King said.

Mr King has a long family history with the church and can see the future of the building, whilst recognising its past.
"We still have 38 days to go to save one of the most historic buildings in Carcoar, keeping St Paul's as a non-denominational chapel will keep weddings, baptisms and funerals locally which will help maintain all the other businesses in town," he said.
Engraved paving bricks to immortalise your contribution are available for $1,000, large bricks for $5,000 or a brass plaque inside the Church for $10,000.
