Come March or April of 2021 parts of the centre could be closed as the roof over the main area of CentrePoint is replaced.
The $1.8 million project is the major component of the $3,055,718 allocated to Blayney Shire Council for an infrastructure project, delivery of a program or a business case as part of the state government's Resources for Regions Program.
Carbine Road sealing at $550,000, Forest Reefs Road road works at $655,718 and a library and Blayney CBD plan at $50,000 make up the remainder.
The list isn't guaranteed though, it has to be ratified by the state government, but Blayney councillors speaking during Monday night's ordinary council meeting were positive that the projects would be well received.
"We've been having many challenges with leaky roofs and getting a new roof, hopefully next year will be a real step forward to finalising that project," Cr Bruce Reynolds said.
The Director of Planning and Environmental Services Mark Dicker said that the current roof lining is not of commercial quality and would be replaced with a more suitable material.
"We'll be using a compressed panel which will be five times more effective as an insulator than the current blanket which is a domestic product," he said.
We'll be putting up to 70 kilowatts of panels on the roof.

Not only will the roof be fixed, but new guttering and storage will allow captured water to be used in the grounds and in Carrington Park.
Electricity cost is the biggest expense at CentrePoint and a new array of solar panels will help reduce those operating costs during the day.
"We'll be putting up to 70 kilowatts of panels on the roof,' Mr Dicker said.
Blayney Council's Access Committee has recommended the doors to CentrePoint be replaced with automatic sliding doors which are included in the cost.
For safety reasons areas of the centre will need to be closed as the roof is replaced.
"Unfortunately the pool will need to be closed again," Mr Dicker said, "but we're looking at a staged closing if that's possible.
