Newbridge Winter Solstice: Unfortunately the Newbridge Winter Solstice will be cancelled for this year. This is due to Covid-19 and advice from the Department of Health (Federal) that the virus will be around for a long time as well as the directive from government asking for cancellation of non-essential gatherings of 500 people or more.
Very sorry for the let-down! Plans for this year had a larger and more diverse Festival on the drawing board. Watch out for further entertainment developments later in the year from Newbridge!
Ukulele Man: Bruce Pine has unleashed his Ukulele skills at the Gladstone Hotel in Newbridge. He has been playing the Ukulele on Wednesday evenings at 6pm and entertaining people at the hotel. Since Bruce has started in early March he has dedicated each night to different themes (Frank Sinatra, Folk, Mixed), but has always been open to requests. Come along next Wednesday and enjoy his playing.
Delightful Diversions: A veterinarian was called to examine a sick dog by a worried mother and her daughter. The vet picked up the dog and looked closely at its eyes and then its ears. She turned to the mother and said "I am afraid I will have to put it down". The mother said "Why, what's the matter with it?" The vet replied "It's very heavy".
