Locals have already been observed adopting the 'elbow tap' instead of shaking hands, and while there are plenty of gags about toilet paper riots and hoarding food supplies, the seriousness of the situation is sinking in.
Residents of Millthorpe and surrounds will need to be vigilant in doing our best to maintain the health of our community.
Community News
The initiative, Coffee-with-a-Cop, was held at Millthorpe's Corner Store on Tuesday, March 10.
The program aims to bring together police officers and the community members they serve, over coffee, to discuss issues, ask questions, raise concerns or just say hello and learn more about each other.
Elbow tapping and garden tool tapping will be the order of the day on Monday 21st March. Anyone who enjoys a bit of gardening in the fresh air is invited to join the 'Working B' at Mill Green at 4pm.
Blayney Shire Council have just completed the footpath along Blake Street, which now means the block of Pym, Park, Victoria and Blake Streets can be circumnavigated with ease - a boon for tourists.
Two of Millthorpe's iconic buildings have been vacant for some time. Community hopes for the reopening of the Commercial Hotel have been gently raised.
Number 9 Pym Street is soon to house Tamberlaine Wines, anticipated to open by Easter.
Trading til Twilight
One autumnal event to look forward to will be held on Friday, March 20 between 5 - 7pm.
Trading til Twilight will provide opportunities to browse new season stock, seize some special discounts, and enjoy a glass of bubbles.
Participating businesses include: Pym Pyms, Mae Rachell Gallery, Sweet and Unique, The Trade Caravan, Plants and Pretty Pieces, and Bedtime Bliss.
