By driving against some of the best dirt track racers in the state she showed just how quickly she could adapt to the changes of not only machine, but class as well.

"Racing against, and with so many great drivers has helped me a lot. Many of these guys are current and former champions and their advice and support of me has been fantastic".

The youngest racer at all of her meetings this year, in what is a very male dominated sport, Sarah is constantly racing against drivers that are 2-3 times her age and have many more years experience, but to her credit she gave the boys a massive run for their money all season and had some very pleasing results to show for her efforts.

At the Australian Title at Gilgandra, 27 cars took to the track to vie for the title of Australian Champion.

By finishing her heats with some good results Sarah was able to start the feature race in 12th position.

After 25 action packed laps Sarah finished a very credible 8th position in what was her first ever Australian Title.

This was followed up by the NSW Title which was held at Valvoline Raceway at Parramatta.

After some awesome heat racing, Sarah straight qualified for the A-main.

All drivers have 3 rounds of heats where the top 20 drivers on points automatically qualify for the A-main whilst the rest of the field fight it out in the B-main for the remaining 4 positions.

"To qualify directly for the A-main at the NSW Title in such a strong field was most definitely one of the biggest highlights of my season. I started the title race in 19th and was able to work my way up through the field another seven positions to eventually finish in 12th place after 30 laps, it was a long and hard race and I was exhausted after it, but it was an awesome night, I had so much fun", Sarah remarked.

The rest of the season saw Sarah compete in the Newcastle Street Stockers Club series championship, which was held at various tracks around the state.

"I joined the Newcastle Street Stockers Club this season to try and challenge myself and make myself a better driver, and even though I still have a lot more to learn I know I am on the right track."

The season came to a close last Saturday night with the Newcastle Street Stockers Club holding their annual presentation night.

Sarah was pleasantly surprised to be awarded the 'Rookie of the Year' trophy and was absolutely ecstatic when she found out that she had finished in 10th position in the clubs championship.

The continuous support that Sarah has received from local businesses, Aquabuild Australia, Blayney Tyrepower, Blayney Motors and Newman's Service Centre has also played an integral part in her success on the track.
