Over a dozen large native trees crowded out the corner block and the house, which dates back to the 1880’s, was in desperate need of some loving kindness.
With three young girls to manage, and a dog that has a proclivity for digging, Nick has transformed both the house and the garden into a space that is useful for all.
“We re-landscaped the entire block and have turned it into a cool-climate cottage garden that really reflects where we are here in Millthorpe and brings some street appeal to the house,” he said.
So effective has the transformation been that the garden as been selected as part of this year’s Millthorpe Garden Ramble on November 3-4.
“Although predominately summer flowering perennials we always have something of interest in all seasons,” Nick said. “We see our new old style garden as evolving, entering its second full season in 2018.”
