Street after street, house after house, scouring the baskets and boxes for that special something that can’t be found in any shop, anywhere.
Garage sales are always popular, and in October the Blayney Shire will once more be home to the Garage Sale Trail on October 20 and 21.
We are hoping to smash our previous record of having the most garage sales per head of population.
- Scott Ferguson
It’s an opportunity for households to de-clutter, re-use and recycle, and mayor Scott Ferguson said it was a great opportunity to see someone else’s trash turn into someone else’s treasure.
“It’s a great way for community groups, local schools and charities to raise funds, with past experience locally shows groups can make an average $735 - $3000 throughout the weekend,” he said.
Blayney shire holds the record for having the most garage sales per head of population, a record that Cr Ferguson wants to keep.
“We are hoping to smash our previous record of having the most garage sales per head of population in our LGA by hosting even more garage sales over two big days,” he said.
