As part of the takings from the club’s 4WD Spectacular that was held in February, the auxiliary will be using the funds as part of their latest project of acquiring a Bowelscan machine for the hospital.
President of the club Andrew Lockley said that the decision of who would receive the funds was made before the show began, and it always goes to places where they themselves visit.
“We distribute the remaining funds from the site fees and the entry fees to a selection of groups,” he said.
“We also recently came for a drive out to Baker’s Shaft near Mandurama so we like to give back to local groups.”
Men’s Shed Health Update
The Blayney Men’s Shed clinic will be running this Friday from 10am at the Men’s Shed in Queen’s Lane, not at the Blayney Community Centre.
Staff from Blayney community health will be there to monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and give advice on any other health issues.
Free survive the ride course
Blayney’s motorcyclists are invited to attend a special ‘Under the Radar’ rider safety workshop this Sunday at the Blayney Community Centre.
Starting at 11am and finishing with a ride at 1.30pm, organiser David Tynan said that the course was for both experienced and new riders.
“This course is perfect for new riders looking for a few tips and also for experienced riders that are just looking for a bit of a refresher,” he said.
“We are riders ourselves so we know how much enjoyment there is to be gained from riding. But we are also human and we know how easy it is to make a mistake regardless of our experience.
“You will also make mistakes. We talk about how to avoid your own simple mistakes and how to anticipate the mistakes of others so you can still enjoy the ride and improve your skills.”
