Members of the public can donate their 10 cent container refunds to Rotary by picking up a Rotary Return and Earn card from Compleat Angler and Camping World, 50 Kendal St Cowra, scanning it at the reverse vending machine in the Woolworths Car park, insert the containers, select the Pay Pal button and the funds will go into the Cowra Rotary Account.
Alternatively, to avoid queues at the Reverse Vending Machine, members of the public can also drop their eligible containers at the Rotary Shed, located at the rear of the Target Car Park, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the Month between 8.00am and 10.00am, commencing this Saturday, February 17.
The Rotary shed was formally the Apex shed many years ago and many Cowra residents will remember delivering their aluminium cans to the Shed to assist the Apex Club.
The Rotary Club would also like hear from any business, hotel, club, restaurant or School that may wish to donate their eligible containers to Rotary.
Rotary members would be happy to arrange regular collection.
For further information please contact Rotarian Bob Griffiths on 0412 458 443, or any Rotary member.
Eligible containers include soft drink, water, beer and mixed spirits, fruit juices, flavoured milk etc in bottles, cans or cartons ( eg. Poppers), between 150ml and 3 Litres.
Wine bottles and casks, concentrated cordial and household milk containers are not eligible.
Remember – Rotary wants your batteries
The Cowra Rotary club has for several years now been collecting used car, truck and tractor batteries.
Used batteries are a considerable risk to the environment and a danger to stock when not safely stored.
By donating your used batteries to Rotary, you will be helping the environment and helping Rotary raise much needed funds for its valuable community work.
The batteries are fully recycled with every component finding a new life.
Used batteries may be dropped at Lachlan Fertilisers Rural or All Service Motors Cowra.
If you have a quantity of batteries on your farm or business premises and you would like Rotary to collect them we are happy to do so.
Please Contact Rotarian Brian Marsh on 0459 574 781 or talk to any Rotarian.
The Cowra Rotary Club would like to acknowledge the support of Lachlan Fertilisers Rural and All Service Motors in hosting a collection point.
