Parents Makayla Gettens and Hayden Gray of Blayney welcomed Kalani at 4.32am.
“It’s a bit exciting but then at the same time we didn’t expect it, I was getting induced the first thing tomorrow morning so it was a bit of a shock,” Miss Gettens said.
“I wasn’t due until Friday the fifth but she came a bit early.”
She said Mr Gray was just delighted Kalani had arrived, regardless of the date.
Weighing 3450 grams she is a sister for Aaliyah aged four and 16-month-old Levi.
“Levi doesn’t know what to think because he’s only little but Aaliyah is as excited as anything, she’s coming over to meet her,” Miss Gettens said.
She said she was brought by ambulance from Blayney directly to Orange Health Service where all her records were kept and her oldest daughter was also born.
Miss Gettens said her tests for all three children took place at the hospital and Levi would have been born there as well but he came too quickly and was a surprise home birth.
For the family, Kalani’s birth is just one new beginning the family is expecting from 2018.
“We are in the middle of moving [to another place in Blayney] and looking at the future,” Miss Gettens said.
