Delivering anything from acoustic slide, to energetic big band boogie, the band has built a solid following through their regular pub gigs and appearances at festivals.
The music includes originals and classics, with inspiration drawn from the likes of Chain, Dutch Tilders and Robert Johnson.
The Doctor and the Badman released their one and only CD, “Did I Trouble You?”, to much critical acclaim in 2004.
In 2005 they won the Blues Song of the Year award at the annual 2BluFM music awards for the rollicking “Split Screen Kombi”.
The band features “Doctor” Robert Mann, a veteran of the Melbourne and Perth blues scenes on harmonica and Paddy “Badman” Hannan on guitar.
Add the rhythm section of Rob Spark on drums and Charlie Fenton on bass, throw in dynamic young lead guitarist Jay Lawrence, and the resulting blues explosion can lead to uncontrollable urges to jump, jive and howl!
Never ones to take life or music too seriously, the Doctor and the Badman promise a shot of rock solid boogie and blues with a dash of humour, and a heap of fun.
Catch them at the Royal Hotel, Blayney on Friday 11th August and the Neville Hotel on Saturday 12th August.
