The Blayney Netball Association's U17s were at the Netball NSW Samsung State Championships at Baulkham Hills on the long weekend and came in at a commendable 16th position in the third division.
The side’s coach, Louise Hamer, said that the girls played 19 tough games of netball over three days, with no reserves.
“With two players carrying pre-existing injuries into these championships and only having eight players when most other teams have ten, their placing does not reflect how well these young ladies played,” she said.
“Their never die attitude, huge hearts and mental toughness was admirable,” she added.
