The apprentice, who works at Hort Enterprises, was selected to compete internationally after coming second in the national WorldSkills competition.
Mr Ingham said as a fitter-machinist, the challenge was to pull apart machinery including pumps and gearboxes and repairing them.
“I’ve learned a lot at Hort, the variety of work they take on really helps with my apprenticeship and with the WorldSkills contest,” Mr Ingham said.
For Hort Enterprises, it’s the first time one of their apprentices has reached the international level.
“We’ve had several reach the national competition,” apprentice mentor Chris Kelly said. “It makes us all proud that Brad has reached the international level.”
Mr Kelly mentors five apprentices at the business, he said they work on everything from mining equipment to machinery repairs.
