A man wielding a knife and his male accomplice turned up to a home in Plumb Street about 9.30pm and headed for the backyard.
The duo then forced their way through a rear door and once inside they lashed out at the occupant and assaulted them.
Police said a neighbour was also assaulted in the melee.
One of the victims had to be sent to Blayney hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The matter was handed over to local detectives to carry out further investigations which are currently ongoing.
Police were unable to comment further about the incident while it is under investigation.
Meanwhile, other than this incident, police did not list any other criminal activity in the Blayney Shire since last Friday.
