The Shire's current population of 7276 is expected to grow to 7800 in less than two decades, with the number of households to increase to 3100 to accommodate the extra residents.
NSW Planning and Environment recently released population, household and dwelling projections for each local government area across the state.
It is estimated that Blayney will add an extra 150 residents every five years.
But there will be less people living in each household, with the average household size to decrease from 2.53 to 2.47.
It coincides with the figures that show by 2026, the number of one couple households will match couple only households for the first time since 2001.
Lone person residents will account for 850 households, up from the current figure of 750.
Most five-year age brackets will experience an increase, particularly at both ends of the scale, led by gains in the number of residents between 5 and 9 and 10 and 14, and 75-79-year-olds and those who are 85+.
The population of neighbouring councils is also expected to rise, with Bathurst Regional punching through the 51,000 mark by 2031, Cabonne passing 16,000 and Orange reaching upwards of 46,000.
However, Cowra is expected to continue on a path of population decline.
