Blayney Shire Council resolved at its Monday night meeting to find $80,000 in its current financial year's budget to build a Napier Oval toilet block/change rooms such as the northern block at Blayney Show grounds.

Council was adopting a recommendation of its sports council which is largely made up of representatives of local sporting groups and clubs.

The council's chair, Councillor David Kingham said: "The sports council ... have recommended this as ... the highest priority even though there's safety and hygiene reasons it needs to be done this financial year."

Blayney's junior soccer club members currently train at the oval which has no toilets or change rooms meaning young children are changing in cars.
