Do you think you could offer advice on ways to improve mobility access in the community for people who live, work or visit the Blayney Shire?
If your answer is yes then the Blayney Shire Council Access Committee needs you.
There is a vacancy on the committee and the opportunity to fill the position ends on Tuesday August 31.
Access committee member and Blayney Shire director of corporate services, Anton Franze, said the position has been left vacant since the passing of committee member Dennis Dury.
“Any interested person needs to have an interest in the wellbeing of people with impaired mobility and associated access issues,” he said.
“Also welcome is anybody who is representative of groups such as seniors, as many people with access issues are elderly.”
The successful applicant will attend the committee meetings held bi-monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30pm for two years until September 2012.
Community members already working on the Access Committee include Betty Wilson, Iris Dorsett, Jenny McMahon, Tania Wills, Blayney Shire councillor Alan Ewin and the committee’s chairperson councillor Scott Ferguson.
To apply for the position write to the Blayney Shire council general manager Aaron Jones or go the council’s website for more information.
