After it became increasingly obvious that the oval wouldn’t be available the organising committee implemented Plan B, the wet weather plan that incorporated utilising the car park along the oval, Boomerang St and the school grounds.
Millthorpe Markets Coordinator, Rachel Booth, said that many stallholders were surprised to hear that the markets were going ahead.
“We had the wet weather plan already in the pipeline, so for us it was an easy decision to make,” she said.
A market though is nothing without the punters, and once more the strength of the market attracted customers from afar afield as Parkes, Warren and Sydney.
“For the conditions we had the numbers were down a bit on the normal Christmas market, but everyone that we spoke to, both customers and stallholders, were very happy and at the end of the day there was a really good vibe.” Ms Booth said.
