Rural Fire Service Canobolas zone duty officer Geoff Selwood said the brick house and garage were destroyed.
He said neighbours called triple zero about 2.15am after seeing the fire erupt.
Mr Selwood said the residents escaped unharmed.
It took about three hours to bring the fire under control after the roof collapsed creating difficulties.
He said officers returned to the scene on Wednesday to investigate the cause.
Six fire units and police attended the blaze.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said there were no injuries in the fire.
She said it appeared the fire had started in the garage and there were no suspicious circumstances.
