It’s modern day replacement though has been shipped on site from a factory in Tasmania and was lowered into place in one day.
The Dirt Hole Creek bridge is the second of six bridge replacements being undertaken as part of the council’s $2.4 million Bridge Renewal project.
Blayney mayor Scott Ferguson is pleased to see that the project is progressing ahead of time and on budget.
“This new bridge is more than twice as wide, longer and higher than the previous version and its prestressed concrete construction will allow heavy vehicle use, and be relatively maintenance free, for the next one hundred years,” he said.
The bridge itself is expected to be completed by the end of August and after curing and testing will be open to traffic by the end of September.
