Members applauded as Zone Representative, June Hutchison, presented Eve and Veronica with their Gold Rosettes. Both ladies expressed their delight in receiving the award and shared highlights of their membership of Red Cross over the past 60 years.
Our branch is honoured to celebrate such a rare accomplishment.
Red Cross Calling
A cheque for $395 was sent to Red Cross Australia as our Branch’s contribution to this year’s Red Cross Calling campaign. These funds are raised through members’ monthly donations, a significant achievement for our small branch.
Winter warmer fundraiser
This year’s winter warmer stall will be held at Bernardi’s Farm Market on Thursday June 1. Come along, say hello and buy a ticket in our raffle.
You might be a lucky winner; but if not, you can be sure you’ll be contributing to the important work of Red Cross. We endeavour to allocate all funds raised for the benefit of our local community and the region.
World Red Cross Day
Blayney branch will celebrate World Red Cross Day at our next meeting on Monday May 8 commencing at 2pm at the Uniting Church Hall, 92 Adelaide Street. All members of the community are most welcome.
VOLUNTEERS
Red Cross depends on thousands of wonderful volunteers, and the huge contributions they make.
In Australia the Red Cross have more than 20,000 volunteers.
When you become a volunteer you join a worldwide movement of 17 million volunteers who are making their communities stronger and more resilient.
There are lots of different roles available.
You can volunteer to make daily phone calls to older people living alone; you can help out in an evacuation centre during a disaster and much more.
