Ian Rogan adds another string to his repertoire of extensive expertise in this role of chairman and plays a vital role for the community’s services and local input.
Mr Toole commented on Ian’s multitude of experience and what this brings to the Central Tablelands community.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Ian Rogan of Millthorpe to the role of Chair to the local board,” Mr Toole said.
“Ian brings a good understanding of what’s needed in this region and what local landholders need in terms of the services provided by Local Land Services to improve primary production within healthy landscapes.”
Prior to moving to Millthorpe, Ian balanced many roles including General Manager for the Narromine Shire Council and after his stint of 15 years with agricultural company Hassall & Associates which provided much needed support to the agricultural community.
His passion for plants and nurseries brought him to the position of Chair of the NSW Nursery Association Board and he continues to consult for the Department of Primary Industries and other rural organisations.
Ian’s knowledge and understanding of primary production, the land, agriculture and more importantly local community is invaluable to the role.
“As Chairman, Ian is joined by board members Tess Herbert of Eugowra, Pip Job of Geurie and Reg Kidd of Orange,” Mr Toole said.
“They bring a diverse range of experience to the board table and will work together with locally-elected board members to focus on the strategic direction of the organisation.”
Ian and his wife Sue Rogan moved to the outskirts of Millthorpe over six years ago acquiring the cold climate specialised Millthorpe Garden Nursery in Eves Lane.

MILLTHORPE CELEBRATING 150 YEARS
This year marks an important milestone as Millthorpe village and surrounding district celebrates its 150 anniversary.
In a historic look at Millthorpe over the past 150 years, the Millthorpe and District Historical Society has brought together history in the making with a beautifully presented book on all the historical buildings and houses in Millthorpe and surrounds.
Headed by John Willing, as project co-ordinator, and the team from the Golden Memories Museum, the book is the result of a lot of hard work and features historical photos, photos from today and a story on each house or building.
The project is a joint venture with the Golden Memories Museum and the Millthorpe Village Committee with all profits from the sale of the book going back into the museum.
Already orders equate to $6000.
“The launch of this very special book is on Sunday 28 October before the popular Millthorpe Garden Ramble on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November,” Mr Willing said.
“All houses in the ramble this year have an association with the book. We are all very proud of the amount of hard work that has taken to produce this book and the ever lasting memory it has for everyone.”
