Blayney artist, Nyree Reynold’s, artwork Yiramiilan – a Blayney sunrise, has been installed along the highway on the outskirts of Lyndhurst and just outside King’s Plains.
Mayor Scott Ferguson was pleased to announce the new-look, refreshed tourism billboards will feature the beautiful Wiradjuri painting depicting a Blayney sunrise over the landscape with local mountains, travel lines and a gathering place for community.
Ms Reynolds, who has lived in the Blayney area for 30 years, is thrilled the billboards will display her work.
“I am pleased to have worked in collaboration with Blayney Shire Council and the Wiradjuri elders on this project. This project is symbolic of the relationship between aboriginal people and non-aboriginal people walking together, sharing stories and knowledge and respecting each other in a new dawn in Wiradjuri Country,”” she said.
