TWO men will face court today charged with the sexual assault of a 10-month-old baby in the Bathurst area and the production of child abuse material.

Police will allege the baby girl was assaulted at her home in April 2015.
The men, both aged 50, have been extradited overnight from Victoria following an investigation launched by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad.
They had received a tip-off from Victoria Police about the suspected child sex offences following an investigation into alleged child exploitation material earlier this year.
The men were arrested in north-east Melbourne suburb of Ivanhoe on Tuesday and appeared in court in Victoria on Wednesday where extradition to NSW was granted.
On arrival in Sydney, the pair was taken to Mascot Police Station.
The first man was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10 years and the production, dissemination or possession child abuse material.
The second man is facing seven charges. They are:
- Sexual intercourse with a person under 10 years.
- Using a child under 14 years to make child abuse material.
- Using carriage service to access child pornography.
- Using carriage service to solicit child pornography.
- Using carriage service to transmit child pornography.
- Using carriage service transmit/publish/promote child pornography.
- Possession of material intended to breach section 474.19.
The men were refused bail to appear at Sydney’s Waverley Local Court on Thursday.
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
