New business committee
THE popularity of Millthorpe as a place to visit, live and work continues to increase and the number of businesses in town has grown to over 60.
It was time to create a full-scale business sub-committee of the Millthorpe Village Committee (MVC) to represent the many types of business in the village and to spread the workload to as many hands as possible.
A meeting of Millthorpe businesses on June 14 elected a full executive committee consisting of Elwyn Lang (president), Brad Ashton (events), Leslie Morris (membership), Mary Dowrick Debere (promotions and marketing), Terry Johnson and Patti McKenna (committee) and Jenny Beach (secretary).
The former sole representative of the MBC, Randall Edwards, continues as treasurer of the MVC.
Millthorpe owes him a huge debt for the many years he has managed promotion of the village.
