It is a day of recognition and appreciation where the dedicated work of State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers is celebrated across Australia.
Orange is the colour worn by SES volunteers and WOW day encourages the comm-unity to show their support for the 40,000 SES volunteers across Australia who provide help to communities in time of disasters and emergencies.
SES volunteers have a passion for helping people in the worst of weather and at the hardest of times, helping with storm and flood operations and other rescue activities.
SES volunteers devote large amounts of time to skills development and training to ensure they are capable to carry out the wide variety of tasks that come with being part of the trusted volunteer emergency service.
Thankyou to the local Blayney SES Unit for volunteering their time to help out our community when it is needed.
