Ten members attended the Lyndhurst CWA meeting on September 17, welcomed by President Kathleen Leggett, who was delighted to report that her husband John had enjoyed a weekend-long family reunion to celebrate his 80th birthday.

During the morning tea which preceded the meeting, Secretary Helen Southwell cut her birthday cake, made by Shirley Russell.
Members were rejoicing that almost an inch of rain had fallen in the district the previous week.
Sally Hines had returned from her holiday in Brisbane with son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Olga, and she had met there her newest grandson, Alexander Andrew.
Sally's daughter Kathryn is now in Perth after her stint in the Philippines.
Items discussed at the meeting included the Rural Women's Access Group (RWAG) information day in Bathurst the previous day with very interesting speakers on youth mental health, women's health, continence and gastroenterology; the disappointing attendance at the Memorial Hall for afternoon tea on September 14, when Country Heart Strings from Gundagai had a great variety of items for sale; and the 85th birthday of the Carcoar-Mandurama Branch of CWA following the meeting.
The President was invited to take a member with her when the Orange CWA celebrated their 90th birthday on Sunday, September 28.
The Branch has been invited to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Lyndhurst Public School on Thursday, October 30 from 3.15pm till 7.30pm.
The Central Western Group of the CWA is planning to stage an art exhibition in the CCC Barrack's Building in Orange on November 7-9.
It is open to the public as well as CWA members and will have a "floral" theme - any medium - painting in oils, acrylics, water-colours, pencil, charcoal, mixed mediums as well as china painting, photography, needlework and sculptures etc, etc.
Members are planning to have a cake stall and raffle at the Market Day in the Lyndhurst Soldiers Memorial Hall on Sunday, October 19, and several are planning to attend the cooking "How to Do" day at Cudal on Saturday, September 27, where Cudal member Merle Parrish of Masterchef fame, will be giving out cooking tips.
Lyndhurst Branch delegates Shirley Russell and Nancy Platt were appointed to attend the Central Western Group Conference in Bathurst on Wednesday, October 29, with Laurel Leabeater to stand in if Shirley is unable to go.
They will be accompanied by Branch Representatives to Council Mona Marshall and Heather Drady and joined by Group Cultural Officer Helen Southwell.
The Lyndhurst CWA Rooms are to be used by Sylvia Wheeler for Literacy and Drama programmes for school children during the holidays.
Information on the prevalence of Lyme disease from tick bites has been sent to local member Paul Toole, who in turned passed it on to member John Cobb.
Nancy Platt read an interesting article on how the board game 'Monopoly' was cleverly used by the Allies during the war to assist escaping prisoners-of-war from Germany.
All delegates to the State Conference in Griffith last May, including Mona Marshall and Nancy Platt from Lyndhurst, have been requested to attend a special meeting in Dubbo on October 31 re the sale of the Potts Point property.
All members are being urged to write letters supporting the 73 per cent majority vote endorsed by the Conference for the sale.
The next meeting of the Lyndhurst CWA will commence with the annual meeting on Wednesday next October 15, commencing at 10am, this will be followed by morning tea and the monthly meeting.
