Service manager Suellen Cook said the local organisation currently has the lowest number of volunteers available to deliver meals she has seen in quite some time.
This predicament has prompted Ms Cook to put a call out to the community in a bid to bolster their volunteering ranks, which in turn ensures the service can continue to provide hot and frozen meals to clients throughout Blayney.
Volunteering your time for Meals and Wheels is not a strenuous task, all it requires is a willingness to want to give back to your community.
A police check is also required before coming on board and your own car will come in handy.
In addition to volunteering, there are also other ways to support Meals on Wheels in Blayney.
Ms Cook has encouraged residents to become 'community referrers' - that means that if you know someone who may need social support or would benefit from having a tasty, nutritious meal delivered to them, simply let her know.
Hot meals, supplied by the Tatts Hotel, are available for only $5.50 and frozen meals come at a cost of just $6.
You can get in touch by calling 6368 3748 or by dropping into the Meals on Wheels office in Church Street.
