Ms Connick is part of Team Lilly, which is participating in the Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer, raising funds for the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, which aims to improve the quality of life of cancer patients, carers and their families by advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a 200km bike ride - held on the weekend of October 11 to 12 - that takes in NSW's scenic countryside courtesy of an "epic cycling journey".
"Tonya Graham, Libby McFeeters and myself have all been touched by close family members and friends battling cancer," Ms Connick said.
"Sadly, Tonya and Libby have both lost their mothers to cancer.
"In order to participate in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, each team member has to pledge to raise $2,500 each.
"We are holding a fund-raising dinner at the acclaimed Tonic Restaurant in Millthorpe on September 5.
"The dinner has a 'Bollywood' theme: dress is optional but a Bollywood attitude is essential.
"There will be drummers and other entertainment, as well as many prizes to auction and raffle.
"We have been generously donated many exciting prizes including artwork, and a return flight Orange-Sydney for two people from Rex Airlines."
Tickets are $100 per person and include entertainment, auctions, prizes and a three-course meal.
RSVP for the fund-raising dinner is needed by Wednesday, August 27 to Ms Connick on 0428 238 233.
All funds raised on the night will go directly to the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
If you can't make it to the fund-raising dinner, you can still donate.
