Cadia Valley Operations (CVO) will fund cash prizes for a new art competition with top entries to be exhibited as part of the Blayney Festival on Sunay 17 November, the same day as CVO's mine open day.

Local heritage schools and St Joesph's Primary School have recently been sent information about the art competition giving them a "heads up" about it before the message goes out more broadly calling for entries across the central west, said CVO's community relations officer Paula Dell-McCumstie.
Local photographer, Zenio Lapka, will be a judge and local Aboriginal artist Nyree Reynolds has also expressed interest in judging.
