Eleven-year-old Adelle, who is in year 5 at St Joseph's Primary School in Blayney, is a student of Central West Performing Arts and has been learning since she was three years old.
She recently came through a rigorous audition process in Melbourne and will take part in classes and workshops in the school holidays.
Adelle recently completed her Grade lV Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams and was told by her teacher Marie Cubitt on Thursday she had gained a distinction.
“Adelle has beautifully stretched feet, which I am sure was taken into account at her
audition,” Ms Cubitt said.
“I wasn't really nervous at all about going in to a class with all the other students in Melbourne.
“I don't know why but I just don't get nervous,” Adelle said.
Adelle's mother Melise Hutchings said her daughter had set her sights on a career as a professional dance.
“She tells us all she wants to do is be a ballet dancer,” she said.
Mrs Hutchings said earlier this year her daughter spoke to her teachers Jamie Kaye and Marie Cubitt about auditioning for the program.
“They helped with the application and it just went from there,” she said.
Ms Cubitt said being accepted into the program was an honour for Adelle who will reap enormous benefits from working with the Australian Ballet School.
