Sunny Ridge Golf club manager, Edna Maynard, is organising the reunion as a chance for friends, team-mates and sporting rivals to meet again.
“I just came out of a funeral one day and noticed how they all get together at funerals but never at any other time,” she said.
“It’s going to be a great day to catch up with everyone. All of Carcoar and district are invited.”
Ms Maynard said that ex-players and supporters that had been invited had so far shown a lot of interest in the reunion.
“We’ve got people coming from as far away as Tasmania,” she said.
“The oldest ex-player who will be attending is 93. Everyone is welcome it's not just for players it’s also for supporters.
The reunion will kick-off on the Saturday at 11am with a BBQ lunch for $15 per person. On the Sunday the celebrations will continue at 10am with a game of golf for $5. Commemorative t-shirts will also be available for $30.
Ex-player, Geoff Braddon, said that the Carcoar football club began as a rugby union side before it changed to league in 1924.
“We’ve got photos of the team that go back as far as the 1890s,” he said.
“We might have missed a few years during the war when the men weren’t here.”
Mr Braddon said that the team used to play for the Blayney Citizen cup along with other teams in the shire including the Lyndhurst team and the Mandurama Reds.
“The cup has gone missing and I’d like the council to try and track it down because Carcoar had their name on it more than anyone else,” he said.
If you would like to attend the Carcoar Football Club reunion call Edna after 4pm on 6367 5207. Invitations must be returned by January 9 for catering purposes.
