Chicken run news
The chicken run held on Friday December 17 saw Kurt Wetzel stock up for Christmas with net 18 to win the Robanco voucher, the chicken winner was Brett Marmion with net 20.
The chicken run held Friday December 31 saw Terry Simmons see out 2010 by winning the Robanco voucher with net 19, the chicken winners were Dean Simmons net 23 and Jim Tolhurst net 27 on a count back from Ray Neely. The first chicken run for 2011 on Friday January 7 saw Beryl Tolhurst win the Robanco voucher with net 17 and also beat husband Jim off the stick, the chicken winner was Ted Dell with net 24.
MEN’S SATURDAY COMPETITION NEWS
On Saturday December 18 members played an 18 hole stableford event for a club trophy, the winner on the day was Mark Toole with 41 points.
The A grade runner up was Jason Davis with 36 points and the B grade runner up was Michael Simmons, Mick Miskell was the nearest the pin winner with his tee shot landing some 290cms from the flag.
The popular three person ambrose event on boxing day was washed out but it is hoped to be held at a later date.
On Saturday January 1 members played an 18 hole stroke event for a club trophy and the January monthly medal, the winner with 74 off the stick for a net 66 was Garry Keen.
The A grade runner up was Tony Smith with net 67 and the B grade runner up was Bob Costello with net 68.
The silver circle was won by Tony Gannon with his tee shot landing 90cms from the flag on the par 3 6th hole on the front nine.
On Saturday January 8 members played an 18 hole stableford event for the B&B Fuels’ trophy with Tony Gannon winning with 37 points on a count back.
The A grade runner up was Tylor Keen with 37 points and the B grade runner up was John Davis with 33 points on a count back.
The ball competition winners were Peter Davis 33 points and Jason Davis 33 points, the nearest the pin winners were A grade Tony Gannon 36cms and B grade John Davis 320cms.
This Saturday members will play an 18 hole 2 person ambrose event.

BLAYNEY LADIES’ GOLF
Ladies played the fourth round of the summer stableford event with the winner being Sue Bevear with a very nice 36 points.
With all the recent rain the course is still a little heavy but very nice and green.
Runner up on a countback with 32 points was Colleen Davis from Beryl Tolhurst also on 32.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Colleen Davis while Audrey kept it in the family to take the prize on the ninth.

With only three more games of the summer competition to go scores are fairly close so it will be interesting to see who the final winners will be.
