The home has been sold for $1,350,000 to a Sydney couple whose Millthorpe based daughter and her two children will move into the home.
When Ms DeSantis first put the home on the market the intended use of the home after the sale didn't concern her too much and she considered it as nothing more that a commercial transaction.
As time went on though and she reflected on the gigantic amount of work that she and her late husband Gordon Craig put into the building's creation, her attitudes changed.
"I'm simply ecstatic that it's been sold to a family that will use it as their home," Ms DeSantis said.
"They're a family in Sydney where the mother has always wanted to buy a church and have looked at four others over the years.
"When this came up for their daughter who was paying rent in Millthorpe their offer was the one that I accepted because it really just lined up nicely. The writing was on the wall."
Built out of straw bales with Millthorpe builder Greg Good and utilising timbers salvaged from the old church hall, the home has many memories for Ms DeSantis.
"I really just need to put my big girl pants on and get on with it because it's no good saying that I'm sorry to be leaving," she said.
"I have to leave, it's just too big for me to manage on my own."
The agent for the sale of 7 Pearce Street was One Agency in Orange.
