New Board
I was delighted with the recent news from the Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation, Kevin Anderson, of the appointment of a new Chair, Deputy Chair and Director to the Greyhound Racing NSW Board. Former Nationals Senator John Williams is the new Chair, Rebekah Giles, who has previously been a member of our Board, will fill the position of Deputy Chair, while former Director Helen Moore will rejoin the Board. They join returning Board Directors Matthew Waring, Sandra Felli and Kevin Gordon. I thank the Minister for his appointments and echo the sentiments of our new Chair that it sends a message for the future to have a very stable, experienced board with a huge amount of knowledge.

Annual Report
GRNSW has delivered its Annual Report to the Minister Responsible for Racing, who will table it in Parliament in coming weeks.
While the specifics will be revealed soon, I can say the Annual Report documents what an incredibly successful year GRNSW has had across all facets of the industry with significant results in all areas.
Albert Gleeson
Congratulations to the Grafton Club on scheduling an event to honour the late Daryl 'Albert' Gleeson this Sunday. Albert, the brother of well-known media identity Peter Gleeson, passed away after a long illness, aged just 53, in June this year. As Peter said at the time, his brother crammed more into his 53 years than most could cram into 300 years.
Albert had an incredible knowledge of greyhound racing and a true passion for the industry and for Grafton, and you never left a conversation with Albert without having had a laugh.
Maiden Monday
The first Monday in November signaled the start of prizemoney increases for maidens across NSW provincial racetracks with maiden winners now collecting $1200 (up from $900) with second placegetters receiving $340 and prizemoney for third now at $250. The increase is part of the record returns GRNSW announced recently, with $47 million to be distributed among participants in 2021-22.
Guns Out
I want to wish the best to the trainers and connections of the eight NSW runners engaged in the Group 1 events in Melbourne this weekend.
It demonstrates how healthy our industry is in NSW to have such great representation in these invitational events. In the $150,000 Topgun Sprint we have Zipping Kyrgios (box 3), Wow (box 5), Bandit Ned (box 7), and Jungle Deuce (box 8) while in the Topgun Stayers NSW will be represented by Miss Ezmae (box 1), Zipping Niseko (box 3), Stanley Road (box 5) and Super Estrella (box 7).
