That though is set be fixed with the approval of a 4G tower to be established on Rothery Street in Carcoar being made during the Blayney Shire Council ordinary October meeting.
The small cell mobile station was announced in October 2020 and was to be up and running by mid 2021, however the concern from a nearby resident regarding the visual impact of the tower on the entry to town has delayed the installation of the facility.
Councillor David Somervaille spoke directly to the resident and subsequently made an amendment to the conditions of consent for the tower during the meeting.
The original condition of consent was to ensure that the facility's colour was in keeping with the area, however Cr Somervaille wanted to take it further.
"I'd like to see that conditions of consent expanded to include new vegetative landscaping where possible or practicable," he said.
Other councillors supported the amendment with mayor Scott Ferguson going one step further in suggesting that the entire length of Rothery Street, being the main entrance into Carcoar from the north, be included in council's street tree program.

"I think that we have an opportunity to beautify the street generally as well as the landscaping that may happen with the development," he said.
The facility as it stands does not have a tower and is called a Small Country Exchange (SCAX). Originally it was thought that the water tower would be the logical place for the tower. During the meeting though the Director of Planning and Environmental Services Mark Dicker said that the tower was not feasible.
"My understanding is that there is some conflict that is starting to arise by multiple providers being placed on multiple sites particularly with water infrastructure," he said.
The new structure will consist of:
- 20 metre steel monopole;
- Omni antenna (DIA200mm x L998mm) attached to the top of the pole (overall maximum height 21.3m).
- GPS Antenna mounted on the existing Small Country Exchange.
- Electricity supply and ancillary equipment necessary for the operation and proper functioning of the facility including cabling, feeders, conduit and signage.
- Ancillary equipment will be located within the monopole structure and the existing Telstra Small Country Exchange
