Phil and Kellie Kingham received news that their seven-year-old son Drew had Hodgkins Lymphoma in April, and the Lyndhurst community are now gathering to help ease the burden of treatment.
One of the family's supporters Ashley Clark said that a special event will be held at the Lyndhurst Golf Club on June 5.
"Drew has recently started chemotherapy in Sydney and this will have to be done for the next six months," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Kellie has stopped work and Phil has had to adjust his work arrangements to be closer to home to support Kellie and their daughters Elsie and Stella."
The main event is an evening of fun and games at the club with a large auction of over 60 items, games, lucky door prizes, live entertainment and food and drinks.
One other fundraiser are two lamb drives, one at CTLX in Carcoar on Wednesday June 2, the other in Griffith on Friday June 4.
Mr Clark said that all money raised would go directly to helping pay for the accommodation and travelling costs involved with the trips to Sydney.
"They stay at Ronald McDonald house when they can and this will help cover those other costs when they can't, including transport," he said.
"After the treatment is over if there are any funds left we'll donate them to a family going through the same situation."
