The community are passionate about their little slice of history and the Newbridge Progress Association is looking forward to the Newbridge Village Community Plan Review on May 15 to give voice to their vision for the village.
President Wayne Moore said that the reopening of Newbridge railway station would be a major part of the association's planning.
"Our treasurer Ken McAllum is going to see Paul Toole about the railway before the meeting and we are going to place a real emphasis on the railway line being open over the next 12 months," he said.
With the pavilion at the showground now close to opening, Mr Moore believes that the time is right to put the station in the spotlight.

"We're going to start looking at tourism ideas using the railway line such as people catching the train out to Newbridge from Orange and riding their bikes back to Orange again," he said.
Apart from the railway line Mr Moore said that the arts would continue to be a major focus of the village's future planning, and there's one very spectacular event in the pipeline.
"Sarah Hunter is looking at having a light show and have some of the historic buildings lit up as well as some permanent displays around the village," he said.
"We also have an art exhibition planned for the end of October at the new pavilion which will include workshops over the weekend and we're organising a rodeo in November as well."
The Newbridge Village Community Plan Review will be held between 6pm - 8pm at the Newbridge Community Hall. Everyone is welcome.
