One of the best parts about any local show is the fact that everyone can be involved. Whether you are a dedicated volunteer and part of the show committee, a budding musician looking to entertain the crowd, or simply a hopeful entrant testing their cooking skills against some of the best the region has to offer, there is always something to try your hand at. Of course for those who aren't looking for some friendly competition, you can always head down and show your support.

The Community Stage, will be a highlight once again displaying the amazing talents of local musicians and artists from across the region. Performance organiser, Mickey Pye, said he was excited about this year line up of talent. "Obviously it was disappointing not having a show last year, but the crowd will love the talent we have this year," he said. "We try to showcase Bathurst talent and also that from surrounding areas and we encourage everyone young or old and with different tastes in music to give it a try."
Mickey said it was that open approach that has led to a great variety of artists who will hit the stage throughout the Royal Bathurst Show. "We will showcase a range of musicians from school guitar groups through to the Bathurst Country Music Club," he said. "We always try to include as many people as possible and this year will also have the Bathurst RSL Band, jazz bands such as Wing It, run by Chris Dove, and even classical performers."
The Community Stage will run from 10am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. One band to keep an eye out for will be local outfit 'White Stone'. The group is made up a Year 7 students from a number of schools, and Mickey said they were doing some amazing work. "They are a talented group of musicians but also entertainers," he said. "They will be great to watch as they perform, as will some of our friends from the Mitchell Conservatorium of Music and other school groups."
Of course the Community Stage is not the only thing to see at the Royal Bathurst Show. Crowd favourite, the Bathurst High School's Animal nursey will once again be providing a range of furry friends for people to pet and get some happy snaps with, while the working dogs trials will also allow the crowd to see just how extraordinary these trusty companions can be.
A host of other competitions will also be held across the three days of the Show. From horse jumping and cattle judging to slick shearing and wood chopping, show-goers will be treated to some amazing competitions and some high class entries.
