The MS Mega Swim is a fun team relay event where teams have a swimmer in the water for the entire 24 hours and compete for laps swum and money raised.
It is one of Australia's most popular and fastest-growing fundraising events, bringing communities together and raising money for those living with multiple sclerosis.
Blayney Mega Swim organiser Heather Fillery said that three teams had already signed up for the event.
"The Blayney Dolphins will be here, as will the YMCA and the Millthorpe Mermaids," she said.
"This is a great way for community and business groups to have a lot of fun and do something positive in the community."
The swim will commence on Saturday May 29 at 12pm finishing 24 hours later at midday on Sunday.
Heather, a regular swimmer at the pool who clocks up to 80 laps, four times a week, said that the pool will take on a bit of a pumping atmosphere during the event.
"We'll have food and drinks and cakes as well as music for everyone who wants to come and swim or support their teammates," she said.
Both Blayney Council and the The Y have thrown their weight behind the initiative with council opening the pool overnight and The Y staff not only participating as a team, but also donating their life-saving duties throughout the 24 hour period.
For anyone interested in joining a team, or starting their own, contact The Y team at CentrePoint on 6368 2544.
